For I have sinned. It’s been weeks since my last confession, er, I mean, blog post. For those of you who don’t tweet, you may not have heard that my family is moving to London in a few weeks (if the photo of bangers and mash didn’t give it away). We have been busy organizing, packing, storing and selling our belongings. We are down-sizing considerably for several reasons.
1.) There are no closets in our house in London
2.) There is no garage in our house in London
3.) There is no basement in our house in London
4.) It feels good to purge and not burden ourselves with so many material possessions. (Notice this is #4)
I am looking forward to exploring what is probably the most multi-cultural city on earth and exposing my 2 year old to so many new faces and cultures. I am also eager to hop on the Euro Rail for a quick get-away; grown-up style. My husband’s new job will open up a world of opportunity for our family, including my mom, who is moving with us.
But, my heart will always reside in California. And who knows, maybe one day we’ll be back. For now, adventure awaits across the Atlantic! And when I say adventure, I also mean challenge. I will have my work cut out for me trying to continue our green lifestyle In the UK. On our trip there last month to secure a house, there was not a recycling bin in sight and nary a person carrying a reusable water bottle.
Pure Mothers will live on, but may take a new twist or turn here and there to adjust for its new home in Englishtown. Until I blog again, “pip, pip and cheerio”. Stay tuned.

Hey,
I saw from your post at Fake Plastic Fish that you’re moving, and I got the feeling you hadn’t connected with fellow recyclers/cloth baggers in the UK. I wanted to turn you on to this blog:
http://becomingdomestic.co.uk/
She is no longer blogging there, but it’s the “first phase” of moving from London to the UK countryside. She seems like a good person to hook you up with like minded people in London, or at least share her experiences there.

Thanks Amy! I will check out her site. I definitely need to be connected with some green folks there.

I think the article I read to you about London being on the list of 15 greenest cities is promising! Green is there…and you’ll find it. We’re visiting next July for my 40th BTW
