I know I owe about 20 blog posts by now.  But, adjusting to London is taking longer than I originally thought.  Driving on the left side is easy -learning where everything is, is the hardest.  Between endless home repairs, trying to find play groups and meet like-minded moms, and re-learning English I haven’t had the time I would like to dedicate to blogging.  So, during these short, cold winter days, this is what comes to me – the simple things about motherhood that make me happy each day. A lot of them are Waldorf -inspired.  I hope you can think about the simple things that make you happy to warm up your winter too.

3.  Hand-carved wooden figures by Michael Engelberger of Germany

4.  Needle-felted things, felt play food and turning wool into felt (my husband made Santa and the mouse, and my mom made Thing 1)

5.  Painted faces (my son and my best friend’s daughter) *notice the Hanna’s again!

6.  Lullabies – a few of my favorites are: Hushabye Mountain, Apple Blossom Fairy, Fala Nana Fala Nina, Shaker Medley, Voyage of the Moon, The Cradle Song, All The Pretty Little Horses, Greensleeves – and so many more.

7.  Daddy making animal-shaped pancakes for breakfast on the weekends

11.  Smiles, laughs, kisses, cuddles, I love you’s & sleeping (there had to be more than 10!)
